Ada Zejun Shen
Ada Zejun Shen is an award-winning illustrator and interdisciplinary artist in New York. Aiming at scientific communication and conceptual interpretation, her illustration explores the intersection of science and art, using semiotics from nature, history and mythology. Her works have been recognized by the Society of Illustrators, American Illustration, World Illustration Award, Communication Arts and more.Although organic and often complex, her work is guided by clarity and ideation. Using a process that combines paper and digital media, she finds ways to create balance amongst a web of entangled multiplicity. She hopes to conjure thoughtful images for editorial and book publishers, visual identity, promotions and institutions.
In between projects, she likes to spend time reading about transdisciplinary literature, listening to historical podcasts/movie commentary, looping certain horror films in the background, and taking care of her carnivorous plant friends.
