Metaphor-Message001: The Quest of Dialogue
The Quest of Iranon is to me an unusual Lovecraft story. Seeking for the ideal homeland of his dream, the immortal Iranon travels, only to find his city doesn’t exist. The realization breaks his immortality and leads to his suicide. But I see it as a disenchantment process that reestablishs humanity (mortality) and equilibrium. In my first year away from home, I feel the story speaks to many who experience the in-between, in limbo, in exile, in duality... Similarity and connection could exist within seemingly irreconcilable contradictions and differences. I represent this message through an imaginary dialogue that could be self-questioning and reflecting.
